And as you pointed out - families are often family-line of doctors or whatever and that's the expectation and kind of the conditions for the child to be sent OS studying.
Not too mention, there are such a ridiculous amount of Indians studying in India, that the ones getting OS Uni placements are pretty fucking top-students.
