I wonder if this maybe could partially explain the divorce rate. After all you can't be on birth control when you actually want to have kids, so what happens when she's around her husband while ovulating and he just suddenly doesn't look as good to her?
To be fair though, evolutionary psychology doesn't have the best reputation in the science community and generally isn't the most accurate method of predicting human behaviour that exists. In animals, moreso, but human behaviour is more complex and more variable.
