The British royals are constitutional monarchs, mostly figureheads, cultural relics, tourist attractions. Normally women monarchs in proper autocratic monarchies are only tolerated because they're placeholders for the next male member of the dynasty, and loyalty to any group beyond yourself is a male (patriarchal) trait.
