That’s crazy because I’ve never seen it. I’ve only seen people sharing a screenshot of someone saying it. I have never had anyone in my life say that I have ever seen or heard say that or think it’s acceptable to say that. I don’t even know anyone who thinks it.

The shit that’s passed around on social media is a pretty small sample size all things considered. Even on any social media platform, I have never seen it.

My mainstream isn’t everyone’s mainstream. We are all at different points and around different groups. I don’t think there’s a ton of things to even be able to call mainstream because it varies from person to person, from group to group, from state to state, from country to country.

It's crazy to me that you haven't seen it. I mean, just go on Twitter or Instagram and search the hashtag "#menaretrash". There are 22,600 posts on Instagram under that hashtag alone. And I've heard women say it out loud in conversation.

Maybe I'm exposed to it more because of the internet circles I run in, but it's a statement that has been made in tens of thousands of Tweets/memes/comments/posts with hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people sharing and liking said posts. I would say that makes it a fairly mainstream sentiment at this point.
