Fuuuck this hits too close to home. I struck up a conveesation with an amateur photographer at a social event my mom invited me to about three weeks ago. Built decent rapport with him and talked about all the photos he took while we reminisced over high school since we went to the same alma mater. I thought I had really made a new friend for the first time in ages, and he even offered to hang out around town that night. His cellphone was out of service, so he told me to jot my number down on a piece of napkin and he'd call me later from his home phone. Like I said, it's been three weeks and I haven't heard a peep from him since. So tired of this, it happens too often

You need to not take it so hard. I've met tons of cool people and gotten their number and we've never spoken again. Taking on a new friend especially when someone is older and busier can be stressful for some reason. You have to learn more about that person.. might not seem like it but you are investing some emotional connection into that person. In 2018 more than ever that's bigger and bigger. I've had a long day, do I want to meet this new friend who could turn out to be weird.. or go on a Tinder date or out to a bar with good friends I already have or simply watch TV.
