I remember about 18 months back around 2am, some woman was banging on my front door and clearly crying and hysterical. I lived in a pretty rough neighbourhood at the time.

Honestly she may have been trying to rob you. It’s a popular scheme where a woman pretends to be distressed, and when someone opens the door a couple guys jump out from behind and rob your house.
To be honest, in post-USSR we don't really help anyone a lot. Why take chances if the woman being abused right now by a drunken partner won't attack the rescuer as well? I actually saw that happen with my own eyes.
I saw a girl and a dude arguing the other day and she was trying to walk away, but he physically stopped her. It looked liked she didn't know him and was being harassed. It was in broad daylight so I thought I'd go up there and ask what's up. She looked at me pissed and told me to mind my own business. Guess it was her boyfriend or something. I still don't understand.
That's what happens when you build a society around personal freedom and individualism.

I did the same thing few days ago...i was sleeping at 8 am when i hear a voice from the outside asking for help...i woke up went to look at the balcony and saw a women laying down on the sidewalk screaming for help...i just stood there doing nothing and few moment later there were already few white knights trying to help her and calling the ambulance...
I know it sounds terrible but i still remember asking for help when i was passed out from too much alcohol, girls just passed by saying omg look at this drunktard and if there wasnt those few guys that helped me that night prolly i would be dead by now...thats what women are all about, they would literally let you die if your a sub 8.
