A community of misogynists 2.0, monstrous outgrowth of the sexual and sentimental frustration of young men who are convinced of being victims of the cruelty of women and who think that love should be a meritocracy. A federation of revenge drunk revenge that has been forged in the corners of the web, growing on the forums, Reddit in mind. Strangely, a mystical figure constantly returns in their exchanges, a sort of divinity to which they lend allegiance: St.BlackOps2. Brain returns to the genesis of the legend of this patron saint of a new genre.
It is the magazine MEL that tried to find the track of this symbol in spite of himself. Because we know little verifiable things and some about this boy, except he likes Call of Duty and he is not a regular Sun Point. According to the Incels, in 2013, this surfer from Eastern Europe submitted the selfie above on Reddit to note his physical Rate Me (yes people ask for notes on their faces and their body it's super healthy all that). Unless it's on Am I Ugly, the versions diverge, but it does not matter. The users of Reddit would then be unleashed and mocked his puny appearance. He would then have disappeared from the web and, for some Incels, there is no doubt that he committed suicide. Thus, presented as a scapegoat for the brutal superficiality of the world, he became a martyr of the cause. So much so that they are numerous to dedicate prayers to the canonized St.BlackOps2. Here, he is celebrated alongside Elliot Rodger, the 22-year-old who attacked a sorority's home in 2014.
On his face, the Incels lay all their obsessions. Firstly, ugliness is a genetic injustice that prevents women from meeting, and therefore they are not intellectually advanced enough to love "real good guys". Which brings us to the second point: the sweet air of this stranger, which makes him the perfect embodiment of the guy too kind trampled by others. But unlike this good old Jesus, he is not taken as a model of virtue to follow but as an innocent whose mistakes must not be reproduced. Which ones? Basically, showing too much respect to women.
