I think part of the reason feminists bring up the 1/4 homeless people are women is because homelessness does not stop their menstrual cycle on top of the fact that tampons/pads are considered "luxuries" so they end up bleeding in their clothes. Not everywhere has a mall or public restrooms. And sure, toilet paper may work for a few hours but it isn't secure and it's not nearly as absorbent as an actual period product, they could bleed through their only pair of pants with no way to clean them. Periods last from 3 to 7 days(an average), that's a lot of blood and a lot of toilet paper that a homeless person may not have access to. Again, it's not just that feminists focus on the homeless women alone as they claim to want equality for everyone, but it is something to consider.

My intent wasn't to say that homogeneous support was necessary, rather that a general support for those who have no one else to rely on is.
