Exactly, you can get Chelsea boots for $50 and literally no one will be able to tell the difference. At this point people just buy expensive shit just because it is expensive.
MFA is garbage. Dress for what you want. Dress for your environment. Personally, I'm a CNC Machinist in a college town, and a Metalhead. Chinos, and Cardigans don't work for me. Jeans and T-shirts are my usual. Not dorkey graphic Tees. I might wear horror movie shirts, or garage shirts. But, that's pretty much it.
MFA and any other fashion advice for men is laughably useless because it assumes that every single guy has an identical build with overall size being the only variable.
On the other hand, given that there are quite literally no men's clothes that fit anything other than a standard male build, they're kinda right, I guess.
But the problem is that I don't have a typical male build. In fact, I have weirdly disproportionate and mostly feminine build.
I’m 6’1 140 and honestly it’s easy to play with proportions if you’re willing to experiment. Especially since you’re skinny oversizing looks good and accentuates your frame, an example being vêtements even if you hate the brand for whatever reason. Rn my favorite piece is probably my oversized acne studios Ferris hoodie, easy to wear w skinnies and then jus some pair of shoes that look good (v2 if you’re into that, ultras and good and comfy, vans even lmao, af1/aj1 are classic, my grails are rick ramones). Dressing is formulaic honestly.
Even if you have trouble with tops fitting different hoodies fit differently, reigning champ is always long skinny, same with champion reverse weave. Supreme hoodies (on rc blanks) are honestly the most true to size I’ve seen, and acne fits a bit wider which I like bc it’s baggier. Skinny jeans are easy even if you only go with Levi’s, with 510 511 and 512 being different yet all great fit.
Fashions really formulaic if you don’t look deep into it and you’re young and want to look decent.
Exactly. And male fashion has an extremely limited amount of options restricted to just one specific build.
You have a typical build so yeah, you get to pick and choose. Some of us don't. To me fashion isn't about looking good but rather about minimizing the damage caused by my appearance.
6'1 140 is underweight BMI lmao, it's a feminine build if anything and honestly you can feel free to diversify. I meant formulaic as in once you find what looks good on you it works. It just has to look like you put effort in. Vetements and for example Gildan fits really really different, Levis 511 and Uniqlo U baggy/cropped trousers are very different.
Could I be more 'attractive' if I bulked to 180 and kept my bf%? Probably, but build doesn't make you unattractive. I don't think I'm facially attractive but effort and charisma gets you far.
you can wear oversized or tts fit for fucks sake, old navy vs vetements, gap vs gucci, even reigning champ vs champion if you wear sportswear stuff, i'd say uniqlo and acne studios both offer easily rtw stuff at their essence but they fit really differently
i literally went through anorexia for years and i'm just recovering now, but depending on what clothes i wear i can hide my underweight-ness fairly well
if you call the aftermath of anorexia and an underweight bmi 'less swole than i would like to be' feel free, but please recognize medical definitions of healthy weight and unhealthily lightweight
if you choose to condemn me for parading my own ignorance, i would greatly appreciate sources - even if to validate your own intelligence and prove yourself correct
Yep. I have two options. And when it comes to formal clothing, I have one options. I really wouldn't call that being able to diversify. And given that my build is not masculine, fitting clothes are out of the question, meaning I have one option for both casual and formal.
if you call the aftermath of anorexia and an underweight bmi 'less swole than i would like to be' feel free, but please recognize medical definitions of healthy weight and unhealthily lightweight
I don't care about your weight or your medical conditions. Your responded to my comment about build with comments about your weight, which just shows off that you've never had to deal with the issues I was talking about.
but dressing well does help
Being able to dress well while male is already a privilege. A man who falls out of the rather narrow standards of body proportion and face won't be able to dress well.
never felt like physical appearance has held me back though
carti literally said "skinny nigga in these tight clothes"
vastly different body types there
I'm not sure why you're being so provocative since I legitimately want to help you find something that works for you. If dressing well for society is your goal it really isn't hard and I don't think I've ever seen anyone mocked for appearance even in a high school. Can I have an example of your body type (ht/wt) to get a better estimate of what kind of body you have?
I'm talking to a friend over discord right now I know he's skinny as fuck but
Pretty much identical body types of different sizes. You're showing off your ignorance again. And it's clear you're obsessed with your own skinniness and think being skinny makes you somehow special. I sympathize with anorexia, but it's completely irrelevant to this discussion.
And no, I'm not going to post any pics because we both know your reply is going to be the same no matter what I look like, so let's just skip the awkward and risky part and just move on to the part where you once again assert that there's nothing wrong with male fashion because you have shit that fits your standard build.
What's the risk? That I suggest clothes to fit your build? I have no way of knowing what you mean without a pic.
I think there's a huge problem with male fashion, I think 145lb 5'10 is the ideal build and I'm too lanky and tall. There's nothing designed for me explicitly but it's not impossible to adapt pieces to fit you.
Yes, I've seen plenty of such albums. They showcase exactly what is wrong with male fashion - all clothing available to men is just minor variations of the same few pieces that are all built to work with a masculine figure and masculine face. If you don't fit that, tough luck.

Every outfit they choose is a dress shirt and chinos with these shoes.

JFL at all the numales who spent 500 dollars on street shoes thinking it would make an ounce of difference

I can wear 30 dollar shoes and they would look better than that numale garbage.
1 xtsv 2018-04-01
It is a standard business casual outfit though, so it's acceptable as long as they only wear it to work.
1 IncelSlayerZero 2018-04-01
Yeah they're not terrible, I'd just go with the classic black. If I were to buy something extravagant for work I'd get a pair of these.

I'm surprised that an incel artist would make chads and stacies fans of death grips. Seeing as the whole stereotype is that they're all dumb.

Feminine is not "less swole than I would like to be". You're just parading your own ignorance with those comments. What are you even trying to prove?
No, I can't. There are quite literally no options.

I am not saying being skinny makes me special. I used two different body types - fat, skinny. Please define body type if you think these are the same.

No, that's not two body types.
1 strazyyy 2018-04-01
