I definitely agree that pattern balding >>>>>>>>>>> diffuse thinning. A thick NW2 looks significantly better than a thinning NW0. You can hide a hairline, you can't really hide an entire head of thin hair.

Oh and even if you're NW7, you can still do what the guy in the OP did (a hair piece). Again, it's upsetting that you have to resort to that, but it is maintainable. I know some bald people who have done it.

I think I'm still in early stages. I can see visible lines of baldness on both sides and on top of my head if I ruffle my hair enough. Having a hard time convincing my gp to conduct a test for balding. Will get a haircut soon, maybe it will become for visible then and I can get tested.

on your temples? no not really unless you see it has come and gone before. If you can genuinely see that there's thinning and there's more of it coming on, then yea, I would do something about it.

Timeline pics are the best way to tell if you are. Just take good lighting good angle pics every 3 months. Make sure the angle and lighting are relatively the same, or else it can look better or worse.

Remember the Norwood chart. Hair in the "NW7" region literally cannot go bald. You cannot lose that hair.

What you really need to be worrying about with diffuse thinning is the entire top of the scalp. The sides don't really thin from what I know.

The hair that is by far the most sensitive to DHT is your temple hair and crown hair, so you should worry the most about them.

Thanks man. I do notice some thinning on my temple, I'm not sure abt the crown yet. As you can see too much curly hair, might be hiding some bald patches. Should be visible once I have a hair cut.
