I don't know. Maybe us Americans just believe in ourselves more. Our culture evolved out of the frontiers of the "Wild West" and developed a do it yourself kind of mentality.

Maybe its due to our origins in rebellion or our insatiable lust to fight against some perceived ill, but many Americans tend to rally against things that bring them down. There is no socially accepted caste and a permeating dream of meritocracy.

Now this is just the mentality. By no means does it accurately reflect reality. There are people who get ahead without merit. And people who fail despite all of their efforts. But the culture itself is pretty unique due to its intrinsic individualism.

Besides, this whole black red and yellow pill bullshit is very generalized and narrow minded. Human nature is far too complex to summarize with vague categories. If you are going that route, it would be more worthwhile to say, "Humans are freaking assholes." Or, "We are the fucking orcs Tolkien had envisioned."
