I tried this and they walked away about 15 seconds in. Having a speech impediment makes it impossible to communicate well with people.

Fuck dude that sucks..... I sometimes stutter, but that is nowhere close to a speech impediment. I did have a friend who had one, and a really cool tip he gave me was to take your time when talking, no matter how nervous you may be.
