So depressed let's talk about hobbies
38 2018-03-13 by opsecincels
Just want to talk about our hobbies here.
If you come from /r/IncelTears please just leave me alone. There's been like 20 of you making fun of me in my last few threads, downvoting me and telling me what to do. Just go away.
I really liked the applied tech field. I did autos, welding, woodshop, metals etc.
I worked on my own car, put at least $10,000 into it. I ran it open headers and got in a bit of trouble for drifting and revving lol
Always wanted to craft something nice in woodshop. Never could.
Everyone hates me and I'm depressed. No one can give me basic respect. They see me say "I'm depressed" and begin to aggressively tell me everything I'm supposed to be doing, and why expressing my feelings is toxic.
Sigh

Woodshop is pretty cool, i'd like to pick up carpentry and more basic forms of structure building. Having the skills and tools to build a garden shed would be neat. I don't have any money or "time" to focus on my hobbies but when I grow up, move out, and get a job, I'll start doing things i want to do. Interested in historical weapons and gardening mostly but would also like to gymcel and practice MMA.
1 opsecincels 2018-03-13
Me too. The possibilities for doing things I love are endless once I graduate
For now I ldar in dorms and listen to normies fuck each other. This place is garbage
1 GiantRubberChicken 2018-03-13
Since you're interested in historical weapons, there are a few YouTube channels you might like, like Skallagrim, Scholagladiatoria, Shadiversity, Metatron, etc
1 Dusty715 2018-03-13
I watch all of those guys except shadiversity because he's a bit of a nonce, along with lindybeige and forgotten weapons (since guns are also pretty cool).

My car is straight piped, can confirm it won't get you laid lolol

This hahaha
When I was 16 I'd rev and try to get all the girls to look. They didn't. Keep in mind this was back in the day when I didn't think I was an incel.
1 incelwriter 2018-03-13
What do you drive btw? I used to have high gearhead hopes, but now I've given up and just play gran turismo
1 opsecincels 2018-03-13
I had an ls swap lx mustang foxbody, built it just me and my old man. It dynoed at like 500rwhp all motor, and tbh I could have done more but I just didn't care to.
Now we keep that in a garage decomissioned and I have a 2016 amg. Thing is I don't drive it anymore.
I used to post progress threads literally EVERY day on 4chan.org/o/ like 2015-2016, highly doubt anyone remembers it though bc they all called me amerifag (tbqh I hate America only their cars are simple and fun)
1 incelwriter 2018-03-13
Amerifag + eurofag = dis is y ur incel

Programming sometimes, read books and play games.
However i feel nothing inside, i only do these things out of habit.
1 opsecincels 2018-03-13
I've stopped feeling any positive emotion a long time ago.
1 Board_Gaming 2018-03-13
What do you read?
Programming is cool.
1 throwaway192200 2018-03-13
I mostly read fantasy books, biographies and some light novels.
Programming is only cool when you're doing a creative project, otherwise it's incredibly frustrating, especially debugging which usually has me rethinking my life.

Shut up and just do your job
1 opsecincels 2018-03-13
LMAO. she serially upsets me. She didn't even have the audacity to ask ME about MY hobbies.
Stacy always makes sure to exclude me.
1 Not_unique_enuf 2018-03-13
Video gaming and reading. It takes me to a world not my own....š. My escape.
It kinda seems like you might have clinical depression. Considered going to a therapist?
1 StoopidSeksyFlanders 2018-03-13
When I was alone and depressed backpacking helped me get through it. Itās a hobby where itās perfectly normal to be alone, and itās rare to see other people in some places. When solo you can hike at your own speed, youāre more likely to see wildlife, picking a campsite is easier, logistics are usually smoother, and everything is quieter.

1 weepingxray 2018-03-13
That's really cool you put $10 grand into your own car. I'm an idiot mechanically, so I'm seriously envious of people like you who know auto, welding, woodshop, metal, and such techs. I especially always thought woodshop was cool. Took an intro class in it once and found it was pretty challenging! We all have our strengths and weaknesses though. I suck as applied techs ... so I just voraciously read books on everything under the sun. But for whatever its worth: I think you have really awesome hobbies, dude. Keep it up!
1 IrishMiicko 2018-03-13
I go around the Loch that I live beside and pretend that I'm a Viking because the Vikings were.present in the same waters during their monastery plunders.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
Hobbies are bullshit. If you're Chad, even if your only hobby is fucking and smoking weed, girls will go after you.
1 RichardInaTreeFort 2018-03-13
So do it for you and dont worry about what a girl thinks about it. Have a hobby to enjoy life, not to impress people.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
Trust me. I never got into any hobbies for the sake of attention. But hobbies can't replace a girl.
1 RichardInaTreeFort 2018-03-13
No, but they can take your mind off of it while you do them. The hobbies I enjoy, I enjoy because while Im doing them, nothing else is on my mind. Its a nice escape and depending on your hobby, they can improve you in different ways whether it be mental like learning music, physical like sports or exercise or even emotionally like volunteering and helping people.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
And how will that help with getting a girlfriend?
1 RichardInaTreeFort 2018-03-13
It doesnt matter if it does or not. That's not why you should have a hobby. Your hobbies are about things YOU like. Not about making someone else like you.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
Exactly. So it doesn't solve anything. And thus this whole post is bullshit.
1 RichardInaTreeFort 2018-03-13
Well, be ugly and hobby-less. I really dont give a shit.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
I already have hobbies you retard. I don't have a girlfriend.
1 RichardInaTreeFort 2018-03-13
Fantastic.
1 peepalapeep 2018-03-13
I wonder why....
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
I don't. I know why. It's because I'm ugly.
1 justforlulzandkeks 2018-03-13
Shut the fuck up unfunny idiot
1 N0Taqua 2018-03-13
everything comes back to "getting" a girl for you, doesn't it? Open your ears, 1. girlfriends are not objects or prizes to be "got" and 2. having a relationship won't magically make you happy, I promise.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
Yes it does. Because that's what I'm missing. A girl. And having a girl will make me happy.
1 N0Taqua 2018-03-13
No, it won't man. I swear to you it won't. You think it will for a variety of reasons, but it really really wont. You need to learn to be happy with yourself, no matter what the outside world manifests as. Then, you can look for a person to share life with, because that is nice to do. But it is not a cure for your unhappiness.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
I'm extremely happy with myself. What I'm not happy with is the fact that I don't have a girlfriend. And thus getting one will make me happy.
1 N0Taqua 2018-03-13
If you're already happy, being in a relationship (not "getting a girlfriend) can't "make you happy". Either you're happy now, or you aren't. And if you are, you don't need the relationship. If you're not, the relationship won't magically make you happy.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
I'm happy otherwise. I'm only sad because I'm not in a relationship. That make more sense?
1 N0Taqua 2018-03-13
This is a contradiction. Either you're happy, or you're not. I understand what you're trying to say... that you're happy with everything about your life except the fact you're single, so that one aspect makes you unhappy. But I'm telling you, and I swear this is true, that is not the reason you're unhappy. You just think it is because it's ingrained into your belief system. Society tells you you're a "loser" if you're single, etc. But it's only true if you believe it. Even if everyone else believes it so it's true for them, it doesn't have to be true for you.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
That is exactly the reason I'm unhappy. I'm literally telling you the reason. I could give a shit about what society tells me. It's not about that. It's the fact I feel lonely.
1 N0Taqua 2018-03-13
See and I'm telling you you're wrong. Happiness doesn't come from our circumstances, it comes from within. If you are unhappy, no change in your life will change that, not love from someone else, not money, nothing. I'm serious.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
Bullshit. So you're telling me the guy who's sad because he's homeless and hungry just needs to cheer up and be happy? Circumstances definitely control happiness. You seem like a privileged asshole.
1 N0Taqua 2018-03-13
No, they don't. There are rich, famous people with beautiful partners who kill themselves, and there are homeless people and starving people in Africa who are happier than you or me.
I'm not saying that circumstances have no effect on happiness, but they are not the cause of having or lacking it. They can help one way or another, but true mindset comes from inside.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
That's called ignorance.
1 N0Taqua 2018-03-13
What is? If circumstances = happiness, why does any man with a hot wife ever get depressed or commit suicide? I guarantee you there's homeless people who haven't always been homeless, who are still happier than you and me. What are they ignorant of? You're saying they're stupid for being happy, because you say the absolutely should be unhappy, because of their circumstances? See, what you think should and shouldn't be does not equal reality. The are happy, so it doesn't matter if you think they shouldn't be. These two groups of people's existence proves your "circumstances = happiness" theory wrong.
1 gufestus2 2018-03-13
"just be happy bro". Please fuck off.
1 Flamescoito 2018-03-13
It's very easy to say someone is wrong. Much easier to say happiness should come from within. I'm not an incel and even I think this comment is a low-effort lecturing.
1 Mr-Mercedes- 2018-03-13
Fucking nonsense
I wish I were this simple-minded. It would make life so much easier.
You're either HAPPY (yeeee!)
Or you're UNHAPPY (oh no, saddd)
For most people the biological compulsion to form a relationship is too deep and too intrinsic that it will keep clawing at you until you do something about it (which is a catch-22 for some of us as no matter how hard we try, we cannot generate romantic interest). Eventually, complete deprivation in this fundamental area of biological needs, whittles away at your ability to even enjoy things the same as you did when you once had hope & dreamt that you'd one day be sharing your life and all of your passions with someone special.
A couple comments later you talk about celebs who kill themselves which is just more brainletism. Those are statistically rare cases. Every study ever conducted has found that the ostracized are unhappier on average, and that people who have frequent sex are the happiest.
1 justforlulzandkeks 2018-03-13
You should have stopped replying there, this retard is some delusional sjw. There is no point arguing with normies, especially these types
1 homendailha 2018-03-13
I feel like the most rewarding hobbies that I have are the ones that other people don't have. They're the hobbies that set me apart and make me interesting, and they're also the things that people want to talk to me about.
Like, anyone can sit around and talk about video games and netflix. That's a boring conversation. People like to be fascinated and it takes an interesting subject matter to make that happen.
My favourite hobbies are the moment are knitting, stringmaking, reading about ancient history and DJing.
1 ChubbyFailure 2018-03-13
So, you're in the SCA? I learned how to make a lot of thread craft there.
I even learned how to shear a sheep, clean and rove the wool, dye and spin it. Then knit/crochet/embroider from the finished product.
1 homendailha 2018-03-13
SCA?
Nah man I'm not part of any organisation, I just started making cordage when I was hiking and camping and found it very meditative and calming and also quite useful - I always forget to have string in my pocket and normally find a use for it when I don't. From there I just went further and further down the rabbit hole of making cord. These days I make string like a smoker chews a pencil haha.
I've got three sheep and a set of shears and it's not going to be too long until I shear for the first time. Ngl it's a daunting prospect. Cleaning/roving/spinning is a lot of work but ultimately worthwhile imho. I love getting something at the end that I've taken from zero to hero.
1 ChubbyFailure 2018-03-13
SCA: Society for Creative Anachronism. They recreate all the fun parts of the middle ages and other historical points.
There is fighting in armor (with rattan weapons), some people even brew and wood craft. There are huge events that you can camp, too.

I really really want to be healthy. I hate how I treat my body.
1 ivana_g 2018-03-13
Are you a beginner? I think StrongLifts is a really good program for beginners because itās simple, effective, and it teaches you how to do everything. For diet, look up Leangains.

Yea I'm a beginner. I will check them out. Any subreddits? Is /fit/ good?

I got a lot out of woodworking for a while. So sad Techshop went away. I wished I had made more use of them. I would never have gotten my hands on that stuff. Welders, laser, 3d printers. F___!
