If you knew anything about fitness, you would know that the gym is hardly an effective place to lose fat. The real way to lose fat is by changing your diet. The gym is a place where you can enhance your cardiovascular endurance and stimulate muscle growth, but any body composition changes are going to be pretty much completely determined by diet.

Burning calories at the gym can help but having the willpower to eat right is the most important part about losing weight. You can run for an hour and loose a few hundred calories but just one more mcDonalds sundae will make it all for naught. You need to have the strength to not eat the extra icecream and get over the calorie threshold for losing weight.

Bodybuilders do a lot of cardio on top of a dietary change to help offset the pain of being at a deficit, but you would need to do a LOT of cardio to offset it, and it will also stimulate the breakdown of muscle. Take it from someone who actually lost 100 lb, and actually fucking lifts. You cut fat in the kitchen. You build muscle at the gym. I get that you are probably some Norman faggot who works for 24 hr fitness trying to sell gym memberships, but you can fuck right off.

It's much easier to simply not eat 400 calories that it is to run for an hour or more straight (no breaks) after eating a 400 calorie slice of cheesecake.

For all the lurking fatcels: if you are pretty fat and have a lot of weight to drop 45+ lbs I’d highly advise you to refrain from doing cardio. Doing cardio with that much excessive weight will do your joints no favor. If you still want to do cardio then swimming and the stationary bikes are the best options. The treadmill and the stair master will reck your joints for sure.

To all you fatcels wanting to lose weight do not avoid cardio completely, Google "low impact cardio exercises" such as biking and swimming. It gives all the benefits of other cardio exercises but is a lot less stressful on your joints.
