If you are interested in reading, but the idea is this.
Orangutans have a high degree of sexual dimorphism because of intra-male compeition for mates. Males are twice the size of females.
Females are solitary, so in response to this, dominant males will carve out territory for their own, ideally among the habitation ranges of several females. By setting up a territory that he can defend, he increases his potential reproductive success at the risk of being killed by other male competitors.
There is another morphology of the orangutan which are known as transient males.
These are males that are too weak and small to secure territory of his own. Primatologists actually confused these monkeys with premature males because of their size and lack of secondary sex characteristics, even though their reproductive organs do work.
He lives life mostly alone, only returning to other male's territories to maybe talk to his mom or see if another dominant male has died out so that he can take his place.
Females are extremely protective against these transient males. If a transient male gets near a female, she will screech as if she is getting raped in order to encourage a dominant male to come over and either force him to leave or beat him up.
Let us pray for these transient males who got fucked over by mother nature. Hopefully a st.BlackOps2cel can arise from them and create a beta uprising.

The level of sexual dimorphism in a species indicates the levek of sexually unsuccessful males.
If the males are larger than females, then it reveals female desire for a polygynous system.
In monogamous mating systems, there is less sexual dimorphism and less competition among males for mates.
If we continued forcing monogamy over thousands of years, I'm pretty sure sexuak dimorphism in humans would decrease, reducing the variance of sexual success in males.
