The vast majority of "normal" people don't have the sort of extreme hobbies you would see people advocate anyways. Maybe once in awhile they'll go rockclimbing, or hop on a cruise to "travel", or whatever it is. Most normie hobbies are actually... zoning out in front of netflix and doing drugs of their choice (weed, alcohol, junk food).

"Hobbies" as described are not really done by most people on a regular basis. Also, meeting someone through a "hobby" is something of myth, but that is beyond the scope of this post.

Agreed. I’m very involved with backpacking, by which I mean I go on overnight hikes about 20 times a year. For a while I was organizing a hiking Meetup, and only a handful of people in that group were regulars who came to a monthly hike.
